Getting started
This page connects a personal AI assistant with your own Monotree login. For coding agents and scripts, see Connect a client.
Before you start
- You need to be an admin, editor or manager in Monotree. Other employees cannot connect.
- The MCP feature must be enabled for your company. If the Open API → AI Connectors tab is missing in the CMS, ask your Monotree contact.
1. Copy the server URL
In the Monotree CMS, open Open API → AI Connectors and copy the MCP server URL. It is your company URL followed by /mcp:
https://customer.monotree.com/mcp2. Add it to your assistant
| Client | Where |
|---|---|
| Claude (web and desktop) | Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector |
| ChatGPT | Settings → Apps & Connectors → Create |
| Gemini | Settings → Extensions |
Paste the URL, name the connector "Monotree" and save.
For Claude there is a shortcut: type your subdomain below and the button opens Claude with the connector already filled in. You still sign in with your Monotree account in step 3.
3. Sign in
Click Connect. Your browser opens the Monotree sign-in page. Sign in with your usual Monotree account and approve the connection. You are sent back to the assistant, and Monotree is now available in your conversations.
Try it
- "What does our handbook say about uniforms?"
- "Who manages the Copenhagen department?"
- "How is onboarding going per department?"
- "Draft an announcement about the summer party on 21 June."
The assistant only sees what you can see in the CMS. Content it creates is saved as a draft with a link to the CMS, so nothing reaches employees until a person publishes it.
Disconnecting
Remove the connector in your AI client. Admins can also see and disconnect every connected client for the company under Open API → AI Connectors in the CMS.
